I - VI - ii - V Jazz Turnaround

The above cadence may be applied to a tune in the key of C. Turnarounds may of course be used in any key, and with various song forms. Also used in Blues, the Jazz turnaround is a passage, usually 2 measures, applied at the end of a section which leads to the next section or the ending of the tune. For harmonic diversity, tritone substitutions are often used.
