The Louisiana Heritage Fair showcases over 600 musicians on 12 stages taking place at its traditional home, the city's Fair Grounds Race Track. The festival is held over the course of 2 weekends and usually falls on the last weekend in April and first weekend in May. Each year the festival is held at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Course, located at 1751 Gentilly Blvd, about 3 miles northeast from the French Quarter. The gates to the Fairgrounds open at 11:00 a.m. with the first act starting at 11:15 a.m. and ends with the last act playing until 7:00 p.m.-7:15 p.m. In the past, the Jazz Fest Evening Concerts happen at various clubs and performance halls throughout the city. Unofficial concerts or other music around town happen nightly at most clubs, bars, and restaurants. The 2010 line-up includes Wayne Shorter, Brian Blade, John Patitucci, Danilo Perez, Lionel Richie, Black Crowes, Dr. John, Steel Pulse, George Clinton, Elvin Bishop, Joe Lovano, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Simon & Garfunkel, Campbell Brothers, Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Jeff Lorber, Terence Blanchard, Allman Brothers Band, Anita Baker, Keely Smith, Blind Boys of Alabama, Marcia Ball, Wycliffe Gordon, Irvin Mayfield, Widespread Panic, Elvis Costello, Average White Band, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Walter Payton, Aretha Franklin, Allen Toussaint, Gipsy Kings, Kirk Franklin, Jose Feliciano, Dixie Cups, Stanley Clarke, Hiromi, Pearl Jam, Jeff Beck, Teena Marie, Pete Fountain, Christian Scott, Neville Brothers, Van Morrison, B.B. King and many more local and international artists. The 2010 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is held April 23 to May 2.
