French Quarter Jazz Festival

The French Quarter Jazz Festival is Louisiana's largest free music event, a three-day local talent music showcase scattered throughout the Bourbon Street district (French Quarter) as well as Jackson Square and Woldenberg Riverfront Park in New Orleans, Louisiana. There are music performances on 15 stages. Nearly 500,000 visitors and locals will fill the French Quarter for the 23nd annual French Quarter Jazz Festival.

The 2009 artist line-up includes the Radiators, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Irvin Mayfield & the NOJO Allstars, Rockin' Dopsie & the Zydeco Twisters, Amanda Shaw & the Cute Guys, Bonerama, the Zydepunks, Soul Rebels, the Original Hurricane Brass Band, Gal Holiday & the Honky Tonk Review, Theresa Andersson, Big Chief Bo Dollis Jr. & the Wild Magnolias, John Boutte & Paul Sanchez Stew Called New Orleans, Wanda Rouzan & a Taste of New Orleans, Susan Cowsill, Posse featuring Dave Malone, Reggie Scanlan, Kevin O'Day, the Honey Island Swamp Band, Otra, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Hot Club of New Orleans, Bamboula 2000 and the Soul Project.

The three-day weekend festival is always free and there is no cost to attend any of the performances. The only costs are for food, beverage and merchandise purchases on festival grounds and certain off-site special events.

The 2009 event is held April 17 to 19.
